About DeShawn

DeShawn L. Blanding is a public policy strategist, advocate, and practitioner, writer, speaker, and social and political philosopher working at the intersection of land, food, faith, and agricultural policy. As the descendant of enslaved people and grandson of a third-generation farmer and agricultural workers from the rural Silver Community of Clarendon County, South Carolina, he brings lived experiences to his work.
